QB Mic Roof Lands at East Carolina

Buford, Georgia pro style quarterback standout Mic Roof made his verbal commitment to play his college football at East Carolina Friday night.

Roof is ECU's fifth pledge for the class of 2017.

"I would like to thank Coach Montomgomery and his staff as well as Coach Simpson and his staff along with my teammates and parents for helping me make my dream come true. At this time I would like to commit to East Carolina. #GoPirates"

Roof is a AAAA first team selection at quarterback in Georgia and is the son of former Duke head football coach Ted Roof.

The Wolves fell to 15-0 Cartersville High in the state finals last season 10-0 in a defensive battle. Roof went 10 for 20 for 103 yards and three interceptions in the loss.

Geep Wade headed up the recruitment of Roof for the Pirates. The 6-2, 185 pounder currently sports offers from Miami of Ohio, Troy and the Pirates.

Roof's Buford team went 13-2 last season and 7-0 in conference play. He is currently ranked two-stars by Rivals.com.

Roof's brother T.D. Roof is sitting on no less than eleven offers including one from ECU and one to Georgia Tech where his father is currently an assistant coach.
