Plymouth LB Raequan Purvis Headed to ECU

The Pirates have snagged another sleeper defender in Plymouth (NC) Plymouth inside linebacker Raequan Purvis.

Purvis was hoping for an ECU offer and will realize his dream to play FBS football for the Pirates.

In 2016 made 93 solo tackles and 64 assisted for a total of 157 stops last season to go along with a fumble recovery and one interception that he returned for 30 yards.

On offense, Purvis caught ten passes for 208 yards as a receiver good for a pair of touchdowns. He also had 65 yards in kickoff return yardage.

In his junior year Purvis made 132 stops, 62 of which were solo tackles.

Purvis, at 6-2, 240 projects as a linebacker for Scotty Montgomery in his first year as the new head coach of the Pirates.

With the pledge, East Carolina moves to 16 total commitments, one of whom is already enrolled for the spring semester.
