Dorton Pledges to East Carolina

The Pirates have nabbed a perceptive junior college offensive line pick in Bakersfield College offensive lineman Jarred Dorton.

The former North High School standout from Bakersfield stands 6-7, 315 pounds and is a 1st Team All California OT as well as a 1st Team SCFA OT who also held an offer from the University of Buffalo.

"I am very excited to be a Pirate," Dorton told PirateIllustrated.com.

Dorton took his official visit to Greenville this weekend just in advance of next week’s National Signing Day.

New offensive line coach Geep Wade and offensive coordinator Tony Petersen are credited with Dorton's recruitment with East Carolina.

With the addition of Dorton, new ECU head football coach Scotty Montgomery continues to fill out his first recruiting class for the Pirates which now stands at fifteen for the Class of 2016.
